Sanfoora!

This might be the longest, most tiring, yet the happiest day of my life!!
Today was my university registration day… i woke up at 6:30 am.. though i only slept for less than 5 hours.. but i was full of energy and so excited for my day.. but then i couldn’t help sleeping on my way there! ![]()
It took us exactly 8o minutes from my house to the university.. so i was already from the road!
As we entered, there was a guy standing at the door he welcomed us and helped me with the registration papers.. he told me where to go next and wished me good luck.. to find another guy who helped me till the end of the registration process.. i thought it was really nice of them to because i didn’t know what to do or where to go.. but then my friend told me it’s their job to help people like me “el sanafer”.
I had a little problem with the employee who entered the information to the system.. he was so stupid! all what he had to do is to enter the information that was written on the paper to the computer!! but then i saw him changing the information without asking me “hek a7sanlek 3ammo / that’s for your own good” he said!! i told him i want the exact same subjects written on that paper i wrote! he told me that he knows more than i know and he’s doing that for my own good! “but i want to take this subject now and i want to take this amount of hours this semester” i insisted.. so told me “as u like”.. when i received the bill with all the courses i paid for.. i found that that idiot didn’t listen to what I’ve said.. not only he ignored a subject and didn’t enter it, but he even changed my schedule!! and i can’t change that! i have to wait until 18th. Sept. !!
But besides that.. i loved almost everything about Al- Yarmook.. i loved its buildings, streets, yards! it’s so huge “bigger than my school that is :)” yet i didn’t feel lost! i liked this feeling! “3anjad inni sanfoora!!”
Then we went to Irbid!! it was my first time to go there!! it was just amazing!! i loved it!!!
the new part of it reminded me of Aqaba.. mostly the markets.. the other part of Irbid is like the down town of Amman.
i really liked Irbid.. it wasn’t that different from Amman as i though.. it’s like they are both in Jordan!!! i knew that before but i didn’t realize it! but today i finally did! ![]()
lol first your so cute!
Second, sorry about your schedule but that was typical, at least you didn’t have to wait in a line and get shouted at. Thats what happened with my cousin.
And you kow what, I love Irbid so much!! used to go there during summer vacation when I was young and this summer I got to spend most of the time there. Next summer nshallah I’ll pay you a visit

oh this post is bringing back memories of my begining college days. best of luck. the only advice i can give is dont procrastinate. never wait till the last minute to finish your work or study. if you follw this, you should be able to enjoy college much more.

welcome to the jordanian higher education system where the “musajjil” insists he knows more than you and where “your own good” just means “his own convenience”
my first day at UJ, i didn’t have a pen…of course they asked me to fill some papers and when i asked for a pen i was yelled at “ya3ni jay biddak tfoot 3ala jam3am w ma ma3ak qalam?”…it didn’t get any better afterwards.

LOL, jameed that reminds me of my 4th grade teacher.. i can’t believe they’d still use this phrase after we’re in university kaman!! there’se another one “nseet el masroof el yom?? nseet el sandwich? keef btensa el alam??!” i hate these phrases!!
bas honestly, jay 3al jam3a bedoon galam?! hehe

Yee ya sanfoora inti
The first few days of jam3a are fun.. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it
Don’t listen to anyone giving you directions! That’s a celebrated “let’s welcome the sanafer by making them get lost” Jordanian college tradition.

Roba, now i know you are right about what you’ve said.. even nice people can sometime play this “make the student get lost” game! that’s sick! but maybe i’ll try it next year with new students to see how it can be fun

i can’t wait till i start having classes in the uni! believe it or not, i missed studying!!
Ahmad, no kidding! if i didn’t like it there i’ll do my best to move to another jam3a.. but so far i like it and i love the fact that it’s in Irbid
Mira, yeaa i have a blog!! yaay!
and to all i’ll try to get the university map.. don’t worry about me asking about directions.. there’s a map right?!
