Cartoons!!

Filed under: cartoons, About me — Abeer @ 6:53 pm

I know you’re sick of the word cartoon but wait I want to talk about a different kind Of cartoons! :D

As a child this was my favorite cartoon…

“Lady Lady”

It’s about an innocent little girl “Leen Rassel” who is trying to have a normal life with her older sister “Sarah” that didn’t like her at first because she’s from a different mother.. and their friends “Arther and Edward”… and of course her horse “Andrus”.

The plot was that everybody in this cartoon hated Leen for one reason or a another… besides she had to struggle with her feeling of guilt because her mother died trying to save her in the car accident!

I used to love this cartoon.. and i was so attached to it that i used to cry when Leen cries, i wanted to have a horse like Leen did, I felt guilty about everything went wrong because of her in that cartoon… i even remember that Edward was my first crush!

The reason i’m writing this post is that i found out that they’re showing this cartoon on JTV at 13:10 GMT !!! I was telling my friends and it seemed that it’s their favorite cartoon too…

and for those who prefer “Sally” cartoon… you can watch it at Sama Dubai at teh same time. :)

  4. Bassel, “el jeel hada fare6″?! when i was a kid i watched sally.. when my brothers were kids sally was on tv as well.. sally doesn’t represent this generation of kids.. so sally doesn’t have anything to do with “hada el jeel el fare6″!
Mansour, no i wish i could help.. but 2 months ago i remember watching it on Spacetoon, i’m sure it’s over now.. sorry :(
Dar, are you sure you’re talking about Lady Lady not Lady Oscar? because i used to hate Lady Oscar!

  5. it was merely a joke!!!
don’t get so tense..i only meant the things that they put on TV should be less “sad”

    Comment by Bassel — February 17, 2006 @ 6:32 pm

  6. Bassel. i didn’t mean to sound tense! i was just defending Sally! “ma bikaffi inzalmat bl cartoon and nobody was on her side?!” hehe :)

  10. I hope this doesn’t make me sound feminine LOL, but I used to watch it and I wanted a horse like Andrus too when I was a little kid :D

I think cartoons used to be a lot better back then. Like Faris Al Fata A Shuja3, Ab6al Al Mala3eb, Al Haddaf, Fata Al Ninja, Sanshiro, Sasuke, Peppero, and of course who could ever forget, Jungar and Grendizer? Or how about Al Rajol Al Hadidi? That was definitely one of the coolest.

  12. Dear Abeer,
I liked ur post, as I consider myself a cartoon addict :)
when i feel depressed I go watch cartoon,by the way “Sally cartoon serie” is based on a story titled A little Princess, its one of my favorite stories, as mentioned in my profile, if u read the story u would discover that its deep, not just a sad story like on the TV, u can read the words, its wonderful, and great book.

  19. Dear All, if you have any web sites where I can download old arabic cartoons of the 80’s I would appreciate it.
I want my children to see a glimpse of what I was brought up watching….. if you have noticed, arabic cartoons those days are either too silly or too complicated or too foreign???
Sasooky was my favourite, what was everybody’s?

Back in the 80’s I used to watch a cartoon about a girl who wore a flower shaped necklace and when she would open it she can change her outfit. Those daysbring back great memories and I wanted to share these cartoons with my kids. Can you help? Do you know the name of that cartoon? I cant even remember. I thought her name was Sally but it wont show up when I search for it online. Your help would be much appreciated!
    Thank you!
